The coordinators of this program are Nicola Spaldin for the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), U.S.A., side and Matthias Scheffler for the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (MPG), Germany, side.
Presently the rules and procedure are as follows:
If a Max Planck director plans to start a new collaboration, or if a collaboration is already going on and the Max Planck director likes to send someone from his department to UCSB for a few weeks or for a few months, the MP director should send a brief email to Matthias Scheffler, telling:
Then the MPG will pay for the travel and UCSB will cover the local expenses in Santa Barbara.
For the reverse process it just works analogous: If a UCSB professor likes to send someone to a Max Planck Institute, they should send an email to Nicola Spaldin, etc. A description of this program can also be found at the UCSB-Website.last update: February 11, 2008
