Aims and scope

The functional properties of solids and surfaces are often governed by elementary processes on atomic time and length scales. These involve ultrafast lattice and carrier dynamics, but also coupling of electronic, phononic, and molecular degrees of freedom as well as strong correlation effects. This workshop gathers leading scientists in the fields of ultrafast condensed matter and surface science in order to address fundamental aspects of these adjacent and overlapping fields. This joint expertise promises a creative environment for identification of future challenges and strategies to tackle these.
